Maine Quilts - Part 3!

Wow.....I really did take a lot of pictures.....but then again, there were a lot of great quilts!  So......here we go!

 "Simply Radiant" by Linda Harlfinger.

"American Cheddar" by Wendy Caton Reed, Bath.  Ooooh, I just love cheddar!  And her hand quilting is so lovely!  (35" x 35")

"Pineapple Upside Down Cake" by Sally Demeter, Morrill.

"Sheep Wannabees" by Debora Konchinsky, Breinigsville, PA.  Beautiful wool felting technique, and so much embroidery detail.  Love it!

Look at those little toadstools!  Ha!

"Night Migration" by Sharleen A. Fields, Buxton.

"Maine Twilight - Snow and Ice" by Marjorie Wilson, Brooklin.  Inspired by the Vortex quilt at the Red & White Show in NYC.  I really like it in blue!

"Worlds Apart" by Beatrice Gilbert, North Yarmouth.  A great play with light and dark.

"Feather Zone" by Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero and Teri Lucas, Bronx, NY.

"Quiet Village" by Linda Dranchak, West Bath.

"Compass Blues" by Deborah A. Boucher, Edgecomb.

"Sea Glass" by Margaret Solomon Gunn, Gorham.  Beautiful machine quilting.  She took Best of Judged on her other quilt in this show!

"Angels All Around" by Diana Wells Rauch, Woodland.

"Princess Sharon's Feathers" by Jo A. Timko, Millville, NJ.  (31"x31")  I love everything about it!

"Joshua" by Sarah Ann Smith, Hope.  A portrait of her son at age 16.

"Cathedral Mosaic" by Donna Crawford, Lewiston.  I love the cathedral windows using rectangles!  Awesome!

"In Plain Sight" by Sandra Betts, Saint John, New Brunswick.  Three dimensional leaves.....so cool!

"Queen of My Heart" and "Irrepressible" by Holly Dominie, Readfield.  Of her daughter and son, done in the Australian fabrics.  So fun!

"Peak's Island Sunset" by Ruth Barnes Reed, New London, NH.

The following 5 quilts are made by teacher's giving workshops at this show.  Next year.....I'm going to take a class!
"Majestic Bugs" by Irena Bluhm.  This quilt was stitched first, then the color was applied using colored pencils and textile medium as a fixative.  (The blue streak is a ribbon trying to keep people back.)

 "Soho" by Linda J. Hahn.

"Tahl - Korean Dancing Masks" by Rami Kim.

"City Lights" by Margaret J. Miller.

"Longing for the Past" by Nancy Prince.

Art Bra Collection by the Maine Mountain Quilters from the Farmington area.  This collection was made to promote Breast Cancer Awareness and encourage regular mammograms.  It has been displayed at the Franklin Memorial Hospital and the Androscoggin Valley Medical Center.  The names were so funny.....'Blooming Boobies', 'Stuffing 101', 'Tropical Temptations', 'Mardi Bra'.  Very clever!

I'll have more pics in a few days!  This show was really amazing......I'm so glad we went!

Have a great weekend!
