Yesterday I went to the Cocheco Quilters Guild Show in Rochester, New Hampshire. It was their 30th Annual Show! And it was really good! There is some real quilting talent in that guild! I took a ton of pics, so I will show them in the next few posts! The quilts were on stands, but the rows were just a smidge too close together to get full shots on everything.....but most of them!
Enjoy!
This was the Best in Show.....and it was really well done. Lovely.
I love this little quilt......it's orange, and periwinkle, has a fish, and a wild edge! I love everything about it! lol
This was made by 5 friends....each had a portion of the pic, and made their section in whatever way they wanted. Techniques were really different on each section.....but they still make the picture! Love it!
There were several little vignettes of antiques or doll quilts......I love the little bars doll quilt! And the basket quilt, too!
This is a close-up of the next quilt. I just love all those Asian prints.....wonderful.
Really nice FMQ on this one!
This pup was so sweet! She really captured his expression beautifully.
This was stunning.....I tried to get close-up, but my stupid old camera was not cooperating! I need a new camera.....really bad!
One of their members passed away this year, and they had a lovely table with a sampling of many of her crafts. She was a wonderful quilter (there was a hexie quilt done in miniature), and these lovely tatted pieces. I love tatting and wish I had more time to do it......but quilting seems to take over everything! lol
More on the next post!
Have a great week!

What a visual feast! I can't even choose a favorite. You are right about a lot of talent in this guild! Thanks for the tour.

ReplyDeleteOh my, what a treat to see all these beauties! Indeed, there is a lot of talent in that guild. Lovely that they also had a display of doll quilts, too. Thank you for giving us a tour of the quilt show and look forward to more pics!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend a day. I am particularly fond of that tree quilt -- those are my very favorite colors, and I just love how they look so crisp against the white. That looked like a really lovely tribute to the gifted lady who passed away.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these beautiful quilts, Regan! Love the mix of new and old. Look forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteAll of them are so stunning and beautiful, but the ocean quilt made by the 5 friends was my favorite! I love the fact that they made it together... I wonder which friend will get to keep it, or if it will be like Sisterhood of the Traveling Quilt?
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt show....thanks for sharing the inspiration. I love the tatted ornaments.
