Just a quick post so I can link up to Bonnie Hunter's Easy Street Reveal! I finished it up last night, and I really love it! I still have to put on borders.....they will be in the reds and browns. Haven't decided what yet, but that will come.
I did mine in completely different colors than what Bonnie was doing. I just didn't have much of her colors, but I had a ton of these, and I used a fabric I love for the inspiration of the palette, so I am very happy with the mix of colors. My pinks were fairly light, lighter than some of the beiges I used, so the triple arrows pointing out don't really come off like that. And that's ok......cuz I like the focus of the star patches more anyway. The centers of the crosses were supposed to be pink, but I really wanted to bring in more red, so I changed it!
I also didn't make it square......cuz it would have been way too big for our bed......so I made it a 3x4 instead of 4x4. Now, when the borders go on, it will fit my bed perfectly! Yippee! And I have a ton of pieces left over, that can just go into my borders, or back in the bins! It's all good!
I just can NEVER do a pattern as it calls for! Just a thing with me! I don't know why!
AND, I have two of the blue/beige 4-patches turned wrong! (You can see one of them in the pic.) Oh well! I don't even care! I'm chalking that up to extra fun! lol

It is truly beautiful, your fabric choices and setting really improved a really pretty quilt!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Glad I was not the only one to change up the colorways! It looks so different in other colors!
ReplyDeleteIt is gorgeous, Regan. I love your colors. I love that it is unique to you. No one will notice the turned 4-patches, unless you point them out. : )
ReplyDeleteI'm just starting my Easy Street--it isn't a rush job, so maybe I should call it Snail Trail, as long as it will probably take. No wait, that name is taken, isn't it?
Great job!
ReplyDeleteBy choosing different colors, you made Easy Street uniquely YOURS, and I love the result.
I agree with the others. This is a lovely quilt. Thanks for posting the link.
ReplyDeleteLovely, and just perfect
ReplyDeleteI just love your colors. So rich and warm and inviting. I may have to borrow your color scheme for another quilt... my room is all done up in reds and browns and it would be perfect. :) Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeletelove your fabric choice. I am with you about always changing a pattern, I do the same thing.
ReplyDeleteGreat color choices! It looks great.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful!!! Love the colors and setting!
ReplyDeleteYour colors are so calming....just beautiful. It took me a while to find the 4 patch. I don't think anyone would ever notice if you didn't say anything. ;)

Wow! I love how yours turned out! It is so different than some others I have seen. I think it was a great idea to have a mystery that could have different layouts and everyone could choose which way they wanted theirs!
ReplyDeleteYour fabric choices are spot on!!
It's gorgeous. Just love it!
ReplyDeleteStunning! I love the colors! I fixed my blunders, but as you pointed out, they were more pronounced in my color choices. Even after you pointed it out in yours, I can't find them. I have to work tonight, then I'll have 3 more days off to work on mine! Maybe I'll catch with you! Mine is going to be way big for my twin size bed! I was going to gift it to a daughter getting married, but she informs me she wants a quilt with Mario Brother's Princess Peach and Mario ...go figure! I may just down size it like you and use the extra for pillow shams!
ReplyDeleteLove your site, going to fav you right now and add you to my blog list!
This is wonderful! Great color choices, and a fast finish. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYikes...I only have four of the 15 inch blocks done! Love you colors! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteLove your Easy Street. Wish I'd had the courage to go for different colors. Lane
ReplyDeleteRegan,
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your colors!! That aqua/blue is just dynamite in there. It looks so fresh!
Happy New Year Regan, I love this-so warm and rich looking. Great job girl! You are making me want to get upstairs and work on my border.
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening my friend.

I didn't know you were doing this - love, love, love the colors!! Mine is so far behind!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat is hands down my favorite version of Easy Street! I love it so much that I very well may be making a second! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteColour choices are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteOh, Perfect color choices! That toned down teal is absolutely the best ~

I really love your top & fabrics choice, wonderful !
ReplyDeleteThis is the only Easy Street I've seen so far that actually highlights the little star points in that star block. I guess because it's such a pale pink, it stands out well. I have to look hard to see the star points in a lot of the others. I'm not nearly this far along, but my stars are done, so I hope they show up. This is the prettiest Easy Street of all.
ReplyDeleteGreat color scheme, and I love how your stars really pop out! Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteLove your fabric and color combinations. Can't find your mistake. Well done!
ReplyDeleteYou are so talented Regan...love the effect of the crosses inside the squares that seem to just pop off the pattern! I tried to find what you consider a mistake...I think your quilt is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYour colors are just gorgeous...the red and light aqua are eye catchers.
ReplyDeleteI think you're courageous...doing your own thing ... Picking your own colors...and now you have a stunning, one of a kind quilt. It's just lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour colors are wonderful. I have not looked at my finished top with a critical eye, but if there is a error. It is STAYING. I really do love your color combination.
ReplyDeleteThe change-up in colors gave your quilt a great look. I love it.
ReplyDeleteYour alternative colors are some of my very favorites - just gorgeously done!

Ooo, your colors are really pretty, too. I'm seeing several variations in different palettes than I'm liking a lot..will just admire them from afar though as I don't plan on making this again!! HA (and mine's still not done)
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your colour palette! Such a pretty quilt.
ReplyDeleteRegan, your quilt is beautiful! I love the aquas/blues, it really makes the quilt pop. Good fabric choices. Must have really busted some stash.
ReplyDeleteOH my gosh--this is beautiful! I LOVE your color combo!!! I was planning to use a different combination when I make mine also--but I am still collecting fabrics. Yours is just lovely!
